How To Submit Your Event To Out Of The Box LA
Promoters, venues, artists and readers can send us an event. Here is what we list, what to send and what happens next.

People ask how to get an event onto the site. The short answer is: email us. The longer answer is below.
Who can submit
Anyone. Promoters, venues, artists, collectives and readers who heard about something good. You do not need to be the organizer, but a link to the organizer's own page helps us check the details.
What we list
Events in Los Angeles that are worth the trip: raves and club nights, comedy shows, art openings, pop-ups, festivals, outdoor days, family days, tapings, concerts and the odd night out that does not fit a box. We lean toward one-off dates and short runs. A weekly residency can make it in when there is a reason to go that week, such as a guest or a special edition.
We do not list anything without a date, a place and a public way to attend, and we do not list private parties.
What to send
One email per event, with:
- the event name
- the date and the start time
- the venue or the address, or "secret location" if it is announced later
- a link to the ticket page or the organizer's post
- a short description, two or three sentences
- your contact email, in case we have a question
An image we are allowed to use is welcome. Tell us who to credit.
How to send it
The button below opens an email to us with those fields already laid out. Fill it in and send it.
If the button does not open your mail app, write to hello@otbla.com and copy the list above into the message.
What happens next
We read every submission. If we list the event, you will find it under its category on the events page and we will reply to let you know. If we do not list it, we usually will not reply; there are more submissions than we can answer. There is no fee and there is no guarantee.
When to send it
Two weeks ahead is ideal. That gives us time to check the details and gives readers time to plan. A week ahead still works. The day before rarely does.
The About page has the same button if you want to come back to it later.
