Creative Coven LLC presents David Mamet's Victorian drawing-room comedy Boston Marriage inside European House LA, a Studio City home used as a site-specific stage. The run started October 2 and goes through October 24.

Nicole Pacent and Heather Renee Wake play Anna and Claire and trade the two roles each night, with Dulce Valencia as the Maid. Saturdays add Coin Toss Night, when an audience member decides who plays which role.

Schedule and tickets

Shows are Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm, plus one Thursday show on October 22 at 8pm. Tickets are $50 through TicketSource.

Seating is intimate, up to about 30 guests per show, so it can sell out. The house is on a residential street with plenty of street parking, and ridesharing is encouraged.

About the play

CurationsLA's curator note calls it "a rare queer Victorian farce, staged inside a home built for exactly this kind of exquisite nonsense." This production plays Mamet's Victorian drawing-room comedy inside a real house instead of a theater, so the audience sits close to the actors. Stage and Cinema lists the run at European House LA, 12355 Rye St in Studio City, with Friday and Saturday shows at 8pm, Sunday at 2pm and one Thursday show on October 22 at 8pm.

Why the casting matters

Because Pacent and Wake switch between Anna and Claire from night to night, no two performances are quite the same, and Saturday's Coin Toss Night hands the decision to the audience. Dulce Valencia plays the Maid throughout. With seating capped at roughly 30 guests per show, the run is small by design. The last performance is October 24, two weeks from now, so tickets for the final weekend are the ones to book soon. The ticket page lists $50 as the price, and the venue is a residential Studio City street where parking is easy and rideshare is encouraged. The three performers are Nicole Pacent, Heather Renee Wake and Dulce Valencia.
