Destiny of Desire, Mark Taper Forum, Nov 28 Matinee

Destiny of Desire plays the Mark Taper Forum on Saturday, November 28, 2026, with a 2:00 PM start. It falls on the weekend after Thanksgiving, a quieter stretch when a matinee downtown is an easy way to get out of the house with family or friends. For anyone sketching out things to do in Los Angeles that weekend, it is a solid pick.

When: Saturday, November 28, 2026, 2:00 PM

Where: Mark Taper Forum, 135 N. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012

What to expect

The ticketing listing classifies the show as performance art under Arts and Theatre. What we have confirmed is the date, time, venue and ticket links. There is no published cast list, running time or program note in the listing, so check the ticket page for current details before you go rather than relying on this write-up for the artistic specifics.

The Taper is one of the more intimate rooms in the city. The house wraps around the stage, which keeps even the back rows close to the performers. That closeness is why new plays and experimental work tend to land well here compared with a larger hall.

Why a matinee on Thanksgiving weekend works

A 2:00 PM curtain leaves the rest of the day open. Have lunch on Bunker Hill, see the show, then walk through Grand Park or head to dinner afterward. Downtown is usually calmer the Saturday after the holiday, which makes parking and transit easier than a typical weekend night.

Getting there

The Music Center sits at Grand Avenue and 1st Street. Metro's B and D lines stop at Civic Center/Grand Park, a short uphill walk from the plaza. Parking is available in the Music Center garage and nearby lots. Leave extra time to find a space, collect tickets and settle into your seat, even for an afternoon show.

Before you buy

The ticket listing carries more than one link for this production, which usually means separate performances. Compare dates on the page so you book the 2:00 PM show on the 28th. If you want to see what else is on the calendar, browse upcoming events in Los Angeles on our arts and culture page. It is also worth a look when you are planning around LA events this weekend.
