What is DTLA ArtNight?
ArtNight is a recurring free evening of art, music and culture in Downtown Los Angeles. MOCA, The Broad and other neighboring institutions take part, so the night works as a loose Grand Avenue art walk. Each month the host museums add their own touches, and MOCA's November edition keeps things simple and social.
What to expect at MOCA
MOCA Grand Avenue stays open until 8 PM with free general admission. The museum has set up a free photo booth for the night. At 6 PM, MOCA's Senior Curator leads a free public walkthrough of the current exhibition, In These Times: Recent Acquisitions at MOCA. The walkthrough is free with an RSVP, so reserve through the event page before you go, since spots for a guided talk can fill.
The museum also has Alexander Apóstol's Regime: Dramatis Personae on view, running through January 3, 2027, so there is plenty to see if you arrive early and stay past the tour. Contemporary museum nights like this one suit first-timers, because there is no ticket to buy and no pressure to see everything. Walk a gallery or two, join the talk, take a photo-booth strip and head home.
Getting there
The museum sits at 250 S Grand Ave in the Bunker Hill part of downtown, within a short walk of the Broad and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Metro riders can use the A, E or other lines to Pershing Square or Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill, then walk. Parking in the area is mostly paid garages, and rates rise in the evening, so transit is the easier call.
If you are building a Thursday plan, pair the museum with a walk to a neighboring ArtNight venue, then dinner nearby. It is also a good way to see what is on among the upcoming events in Los Angeles without paying admission anywhere. For more of the same, browse our arts and culture events or the downtown neighborhood page.
Check the MOCA event page for RSVP details and any last-minute changes before you head out.
