Enchantment Under the Sea Dance 2026

Hollywood United Methodist Church is the real filming location of the Enchantment Under the Sea dance from Back to the Future. Once a year it rebuilds the movie's gymnasium and lets fans dance in it. Last year's night sold out, and this year's edition lands on Saturday, November 14, which makes it one of the more charming LA events this weekend for anyone planning ahead.

What to expect

The gym is recreated to look like Hill Valley High, so you can dance beneath the lights the way Marty, George and Lorraine did. Staff in character welcome guests, with Doc Brown greeting people in the courtyard and Lorraine and George speaking from the stage. Beyond the gym, the campus has actual Back to the Future filming locations to explore, and a DeLorean time machine sits in the courtyard for photos. A classic film vehicle exhibit sets up in front of the building too.

Music comes from the band Shrine Inch Nails, who play two sets. Between them there is a costume contest, a dance contest and a prize drawing, so dressing the part is encouraged.

The ticket covers admission to the dance. Refreshments are sold separately: snacks, desserts and bottled water in the church parlor, plus burgers from Burger 3000 in the courtyard. Prize drawing tickets are also sold in the parlor. The listing does not publish a ticket price, so check the event page before you go.

Getting there

Parking is available at the church for an additional cost, so allow extra time to find a spot and check in. Registration opens at 5:45 PM, and arriving early gives you time with the car exhibit and the courtyard photo ops before the gym opens.
