Julieta Venegas plays The Wiltern on Thursday, October 1. If you grew up with Latin pop radio in the 2000s, you already know her songs even if you can't place the name. It's one of the better weeknight things happening in Los Angeles this fall, and the room suits her.

Who Julieta Venegas is

Venegas was born in Long Beach and raised across the border in Tijuana, so an LA show is close to a homecoming. She started out in the Tijuana rock scene in the early '90s with the band Tijuana No! before going solo. Her 2003 album Sí turned her into a star, with "Andar Conmigo" and "Lento" all over Spanish-language radio. Then came Limón y Sal in 2006 and "Me Voy," the breakup song with the bouncing accordion line that still gets whole crowds singing.

That accordion is her signature. She plays it herself, along with piano and guitar, and her songs mix pop hooks with norteño and folk textures in a way nobody else quite does. Her MTV Unplugged record from 2008 is a good place to start if you want to hear how those songs hold up stripped down. More recently she's put out Tu Historia (2022), a quieter, more reflective set.

What to expect

Expect a crowd that knows every word. Venegas shows tend to feel like a big group singalong, especially once the older hits come around. Bring someone who grew up on those songs with you.

The Wiltern helps. It's a 1931 art deco theater with a sunburst ceiling and a tiered general admission floor, so even the back of the room gets a clear sightline. It's big enough to feel like an event and small enough that you can actually see her face.

Practical info

The show is on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Set times and ticket prices weren't published in the listing we found, so check Discover Los Angeles and the venue before you go. Plan for a later night on a work week.

The Wiltern sits at Wilshire and Western on the edge of Koreatown. The Metro D Line stops at Wilshire/Western right next to the building, which beats circling for parking. There are paid lots nearby, and rideshare drop-offs along Wilshire are easy. Get there early and grab Korean barbecue or a bowl of soondubu within a few blocks before doors.

If you're building a fall calendar of upcoming events Los Angeles has on deck, this one's worth circling. For more things to do in Los Angeles, browse the Los Angeles neighborhood page or the full arts and culture calendar.
