Kanan Gill Live at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles

Stand-up comedian Kanan Gill is booked at the El Rey Theatre on Friday, October 30, 2026, a Halloween-weekend night of live comedy in a room that has hosted Los Angeles audiences for close to a century. If you are putting together a list of things to do in Los Angeles before the end of the month, this one pairs a well-known name with one of the city's best-looking old theaters.

When: Friday, October 30, 2026 (Ticketmaster has not posted a show time we could confirm) Where: El Rey Theatre, 5515 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles Tickets: Through Ticketmaster; price not listed here

What to expect

Gill is a stand-up comedian and writer who built his audience with observational sets and sharp, conversational storytelling, and he has become a draw for touring rooms well beyond his home base. Expect a full evening of material delivered to a theater crowd, the kind of show where the laughs are shared and the room does a lot of the work. We have not been given a title, opening acts or a set length for this date, so check the ticket page before you plan around it.

The venue

The El Rey sits on the Miracle Mile stretch of Wilshire Boulevard. It is a classic Art Deco movie palace turned live-music and comedy venue, with a general-admission floor and a balcony that gives the room a lively, close feel. That setup suits stand-up well: you are never far from the stage, and the high ceilings keep the sound warm instead of boomy.

Getting there

The theater is on Wilshire near Curson Avenue, so street parking is tight on show nights. Paid lots nearby fill up early, and a rideshare drop-off saves the circling. Metro buses run along Wilshire, so transit is an option too. Arrive a little early, since the doors line can build quickly for a popular comedian.

Before you go

Buy only through the official Ticketmaster listing linked on this page, because resale sites can inflate prices on a night like this. Policies on age limits, bag rules and re-entry are set by the venue, so confirm them at purchase. If you are scanning for LA events this weekend, or looking ahead at upcoming events in Los Angeles, a comedy night at the El Rey is an easy fit for a group of friends or a date.
