Spotlight Aja Monet at GRAMMY Museum L.A. Live

Poetry rarely gets a room built for sound, and that is what makes this one worth circling. On Thursday, November 19, 2026, the GRAMMY Museum at L.A. Live hosts a Spotlight evening with Aja Monet, a poet, songwriter and organizer whose work sits where spoken word meets music. If you are putting together a list of things to do in Los Angeles this month, this is the quiet, word-driven pick.

When: Thursday, November 19, 2026, 7:30 PM Where: GRAMMY Museum L.A. Live, 800 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles Tickets: Through Universe (price not listed on the event page we could read)

What to expect

The listing bills the night as "Spotlight: aja monet +", so expect Monet at the center and the "+" to signal that she may not be alone on stage. The source does not name additional guests, so check the ticket page before you go rather than counting on a particular lineup.

Monet is known for poems that read as songs and songs that land like poems, so the evening should suit people who come for language as much as melody. Spotlight programs at the museum tend to be intimate, seated affairs, a different feel from a standing club show, though the venue sets the final format.

Getting there

The museum sits in the L.A. Live complex across from Crypto.com Arena, a short walk from the Pico Metro A and E Line station. Driving is easy to find and expensive to park, so budget for a garage nearby or take the train. Arrive a little early: the building is a museum first, and getting settled before a 7:30 PM start is part of the pleasure.

If you are scanning upcoming events Los Angeles has on the calendar for late November, pair this with dinner downtown. The L.A. Live blocks around the venue have plenty of options within a few minutes' walk, and the neighborhood stays busy on event nights.
