The Game Awards at Peacock Theater in Downtown LA

December in Downtown Los Angeles usually means holiday lights and a packed L.A. Live, and this year the calendar includes The Game Awards. The annual awards show for video games settles into Peacock Theater on Thursday, December 10, 2026, with the listing starting at 4:30 PM. If you are sorting through things to do in Los Angeles before the holidays, this is the one for anyone who grew up with a controller in hand.

When: Thursday, December 10, 2026, starting 4:30 PM Where: Peacock Theater, 777 Chick Hearn Court, Los Angeles, CA 90015 Tickets: Through Ticketmaster; no price is listed yet

What to expect

The Game Awards is a ceremony built around the year in games: nominated titles, award categories and the industry's biggest names in one room. Ticketmaster files it under arts and theatre, and that fits, because the evening is staged like a live production rather than a plain trophy hand-off. Expect a stage-show atmosphere, plenty of fans in costume or merch, and a crowd that cares about the winners.

The source listing gives a start time and no program, so details such as the lineup, the run of show and the exact door time are not confirmed here. Check the Ticketmaster page before you commit to dinner plans, because large awards shows often change entry details close to the date.

Getting there

Peacock Theater sits inside the L.A. Live complex across from Crypto.com Arena, a short walk from the Pico Metro A and E Line station. Driving is possible, but December traffic near the Convention Center is slow and parking fills up. Rideshare drop-offs cluster along Chick Hearn Court, so give yourself extra time on the way in and out.

If you want a bite first, L.A. Live and the surrounding blocks have plenty of restaurants, though expect waits on a show night. Arriving early also gives you time to wander the plaza, which is lit up for the season.

Planning around it

Tickets for a show like this can move quickly, and resale prices tend to climb as the date gets closer, so buy only through the official Ticketmaster link. The listing runs into the late evening, so plan for a long night and check the last train times if you are heading home by Metro.
