Veterans Day week has a quieter, warmer side than the parades and speeches. On Tuesday, November 10, VA Greater Los Angeles is hosting its 2nd annual Veterans Brunch at the Shrine Auditorium Expo Hall, a free morning meal for veterans and their families that also honors the Marine Corps birthday.

When: Tuesday, November 10, 2026, 10 AM to 2 PM Where: Shrine Auditorium Expo Hall, 665 W Jefferson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90007 Cost: Free, RSVP required Parking: Free

What to expect

The organizers expect more than 350 veterans and family members, which makes this a sizable gathering rather than a small sit-down. Beyond the food, VA and community resources will be on site, so the brunch doubles as a place to ask questions, meet the people behind local veteran services and connect with other veterans over a table instead of a waiting room.

VA Greater Los Angeles is hosting with several community partners: TELACU Veterans Upward Bound, Veterans Stand Together and Shriners Los Angeles. Pairing the VA with groups that work with veterans year-round is a good sign that the day is meant to be useful as well as celebratory. The date lines up with the Marine Corps birthday, so expect that tradition to be part of the recognition.

The Shrine's Expo Hall is a large, easy-to-navigate space next to the landmark auditorium, with its distinctive domed building a familiar sight on Jefferson Boulevard. If you have been to a concert or a convention here, you know the setup: plenty of room, clear signage and a short walk from where you park.

RSVP and practical details

Space is limited, and an RSVP is required. The event listing says to call 1-VETS to reserve a spot, so do that before the day rather than hoping to walk in. Both the VA event page and the LA County Military and Veterans Affairs listing carry the details, and they are the best places to confirm anything that changes before the 10th.

Parking is free, which matters near USC and Exposition Park where it is usually anything but. Because the brunch runs from 10 AM to 2 PM on a weekday, you have a wide window to arrive, eat and browse the resource tables without rushing. Families are welcome, so bring a spouse, parents or kids who want to be part of the day.

Why it is worth knowing about

If you are scanning upcoming events Los Angeles has to offer around Veterans Day, most of the listings are ticketed shows and festivals. This one is different: no cost, no cover, and a clear purpose. It is also one of the more meaningful things happening in Los Angeles that week for anyone with a veteran in the family.

Know a veteran who might not have heard about it? Pass along the RSVP number. With a few hundred seats and a limited-space note, the earlier they call, the better.
