Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills marks Veterans Day with a public ceremony at the Hall of Liberty on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026, starting at 11 a.m. It is free, and you do not need a ticket. If you are building a list of things happening in Los Angeles around the holiday, this is one of the few that is a full civic ceremony rather than a sale or a screening.

When: Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026, 11 a.m. to noon Where: Hall of Liberty, Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90068 Cost: Free, no tickets required

What the ceremony includes

The program is built around military and public-safety traditions. The listing describes a military flyover and parachute jumpers, a presentation of the colors by the LAPD Honor Guard, and a wreath laying. Music comes from the LAPD Concert Band, Scottish bagpipes and drums, and the St. Patrick's Catholic School Drum Corps.

The keynote speaker is Major Veronica L. Braxton of the California State Guard. This year's ceremony also recognizes America's 250th anniversary, which fits the setting: the Hollywood Hills campus is known for its patriotic monuments and large historical artwork.

Who it suits

Veterans and active service members, their families, and anyone who wants to mark the day in person will find a respectful program with a short runtime of about an hour. Sign language interpretation is provided, and refreshments and commemorative giveaways follow the ceremony, so there is time to talk with other attendees afterward.

Getting there

The campus sits on Forest Lawn Drive on the east side of the Hollywood Hills, just north of the Los Angeles River near Griffith Park and Toluca Lake, an easy drive from Hollywood, Burbank and Glendale. Plan to arrive 20 to 30 minutes early. A ceremony with a flyover can draw a crowd, so leave time to park. Check the Forest Lawn events page for any day-of updates.

Veterans Day falls on a Wednesday this year, so many offices and schools are closed, which leaves the morning open. For other upcoming events Los Angeles has lined up around the holiday, browse the Hollywood neighborhood page and the arts and culture category.
