Yuuri is coming to The Wiltern on Saturday, September 26, and if you've spent any time on Japanese streaming charts over the last few years, you already know the name. For fans of J-pop in Southern California, it's easily one of the more interesting things happening in Los Angeles this month.

Who Yuuri is

Yuuri (優里 in Japanese) is a singer-songwriter who broke out in 2020 with "Dry Flower," a slow, aching breakup ballad that sat on Japan's charts for an absurdly long run and racked up streams in the hundreds of millions. He followed it with songs like "Betelgeuse" and "Peter Pan," and he's built a reputation on a voice that goes from a near-whisper to a full-throated belt inside a single chorus. He started out busking and posting covers online, and that DIY origin still shows: the songs are built around the vocal first, arrangement second.

His recent touring has taken him well outside Japan, with Asia dates in 2025 drawing big crowds. A Los Angeles stop means a lot of people here get to hear those ballads in a room instead of through earbuds.

The room

The Wiltern is a good match for a singer like this. It's a 1931 art deco landmark, that blue-green terra cotta tower you've driven past a hundred times at Wilshire and Western. Inside, the main floor is mostly standing room with a raked balcony above, so the sound carries well and nobody ends up too far from the stage. Quiet songs work there. So do the big sing-along moments, and a Yuuri set tends to have plenty of both.

Before you go

Our listing source doesn't publish a price or a set time for this show, so check the official ticketing page before you head out. Buy through the venue's own ticket seller rather than a resale site if you can; resale markups on smaller international acts can get steep fast. Expect a crowd that knows every lyric, and get there early if you want a good spot on the floor.

If you're planning around LA events this weekend, this is a Saturday-night anchor that leaves the rest of your day open.

Getting there

The Wiltern sits right on top of the Metro D Line's Wilshire/Western station, which makes this one of the easiest venues in the city to reach without a car. Paid lots around the intersection fill quickly on show nights, and street parking in Koreatown takes patience. Rideshare drop-off on Wilshire gets congested right after the show lets out, so walking a block or two before calling a car saves time. Koreatown's late-night restaurants are steps away for food afterward, and plenty of them stay open well past midnight.
