David Cross is an American stand-up comedian, actor and writer, born in Roswell, Georgia. His official bio calls him an Emmy Award winner and two-time Grammy Award nominee. He co-created the HBO sketch series Mr. Show with Bob and David with Bob Odenkirk, and in November 2015 the two brought it back on Netflix as With Bob and David, a four-episode run. He also played Tobias Fünke on Arrested Development.

He started doing stand-up at about 17. His HBO special The Pride Is Back aired in 1999, and Rolling Stone later named it one of the 25 best stand-up specials and concert films of all time. His Making America Great Again! tour became a Netflix special, and Oh Come On came out in 2019.

Three more specials followed. I'm From the Future, his 2021 special, was recorded in Brooklyn in the middle of COVID. Worst Daddy in the World followed in early 2024, shot in Chicago. His latest, The End of the Beginning of the End, was recorded at the 40 Watt in Athens, Georgia.

On TV he created and starred in The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, which aired on IFC and Channel 4, and he wrote, directed and produced the Sky series Bliss. He's touring again in 2026, with a Los Angeles stop on the schedule.
