Atsuko Okatsuka: The Big Bowl Tour in Los Angeles

Stand-up comedian Atsuko Okatsuka is bringing The Big Bowl Tour to The United Theater on Broadway on January 29, 2027. If you are already sketching out things to do in Los Angeles for the first winter weekend of the new year, this is a strong early entry for the calendar.

Atsuko Okatsuka is known for a warm, physical, deeply personal style of stand-up, the kind of set where family stories and offbeat observations land alongside a lot of big laughs. A touring headline night in a historic downtown theater gives that style the room it deserves.

When: Friday, January 29, 2027 (listed start time to be confirmed on the ticket page) Where: The United Theater on Broadway, downtown Los Angeles Tickets: Sold through AXS, see the link below

What to Expect

A headline stand-up night built around a tour of the same name. Expect a full set from Okatsuka herself, and check the ticket listing for any opening acts or run times, since those details are usually posted closer to the date. Because the tour carries a title, the material is likely to be built around a theme rather than a loose collection of jokes, but the listing is the place to confirm format details.

The venue sits on the Broadway theater corridor, a stretch of downtown known for its grand movie palaces. The United Theater on Broadway is one of the best-known rooms on that strip, which makes the night as much about the building as the comedy.

Planning Your Night

Start time and pricing are not confirmed in the information we have, so check the official AXS listing before you buy. Doors typically open before showtime, and downtown shows are easiest by Metro: the B and D lines stop within walking distance of Broadway. Parking garages nearby fill up on show nights, so book a spot ahead or plan to rideshare.

Make an evening of it. Downtown has plenty of restaurants and late-night food within a few blocks, so a dinner reservation before the show keeps the schedule easy. For more upcoming events Los Angeles has on offer around the same dates, browse our comedy listings.

Tickets for this date are listed on AXS. A second AXS listing exists for the tour as well, so compare them and pick the one that shows January 29, 2027 at The United Theater on Broadway. Shows by touring comics with a national following tend to sell through quickly once the date approaches, so it is worth grabbing seats early rather than waiting.
