Hablando Huevadas plays the Orpheum Theatre on Tuesday, October 20, the first of two nights at the old Broadway movie palace. Doors open at 7:00pm and the show starts at 8:00pm. If you speak Spanish and you're scanning the list of things to do in Los Angeles for something other than another English-language stand-up hour, circle this one.
The show belongs to Jorge Luna and Ricardo Mendoza, two Peruvian comedians who started it as a podcast recorded for Instagram TV in 2019. The first episode went up on April 9 of that year. By episode eight they were taping in front of a crowd in a small bar in Lima. The YouTube channel now has more than six million subscribers. In 2023 the pair bought the Teatro Canout in Miraflores, the Lima theater they'd been renting as a home base, and saved it from being torn down. That December a feature film, Hablando huevadas: ¡Hijo de...!, opened in Peruvian cinemas with the two of them playing themselves.
What the show is like
It's improv and dark humor, and most of it comes from the crowd. Luna and Mendoza spend a big part of the night talking with people in the seats, pulling stories out of strangers and running with whatever they get. There's also a segment where they read out anecdotes the audience has written on slips of paper.
Lima's El Comercio has described the format as fast, improvised, loaded with references and often with profanity. Take that last part seriously. This is unfiltered adult comedy in rapid Spanish, heavy on Peruvian slang, so come ready to keep up.
Promoter Loud and Live bills the 2026 US tour as a reworked version of the format, mixing stand-up with improvisation so the audience gets a share of the spotlight. Sit close to the stage and you might end up in the show yourself. Ticketmaster files it under podcasts, but at the Orpheum it plays as a full theater night with a live crowd of a couple thousand.
Getting there
The Orpheum is at 842 S. Broadway, between 8th and 9th Streets in the Broadway Theatre District. It opened in 1926 as a vaudeville house, and the restored interior still has the gilded ceilings and chandeliers from that era.
Metro's Pershing Square station on the B and D lines is the closest rail stop, a walk of roughly 10 to 15 minutes south along Broadway or Hill. Paid lots and garages cluster around 8th and 9th. Parking is easier on a Tuesday than a Saturday, but leave time to get through the doors before 8:00pm.
For accessible seating, the Ticketmaster listing says ADA wheelchair and companion spots come in 1+1 and 1+2 arrangements on both the orchestra and balcony levels.
Tickets
Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster. The listing didn't show a face-value price when we checked, so look at the event page for current seats and fees. If Tuesday doesn't work, Luna and Mendoza are back at the Orpheum on Wednesday, October 21, also at 8:00pm.
