Jay Leno at The Comedy and Magic Club

Few comedians have a stage as tied to them as Jay Leno has to The Comedy and Magic Club. The longtime late-night host is a regular at the Hermosa Avenue room, and his Sunday-evening sets there are a favorite for South Bay locals and visitors who want live stand-up without a trip to a big arena. If you are scanning for things to do in Los Angeles this weekend, this one is a strong pick.

When: Sunday, November 1, 2026, 7 PM (doors 5 PM) Where: The Comedy and Magic Club, Hermosa Beach Price: $37 Ages: 18 and up Tickets: Local Anchor listing

What to expect

Leno performs stand-up here on select Sunday evenings, so this is a working comic in a small room rather than a polished television appearance. The listing does not name an opening act, and club bills can change, so go for the headliner and treat anything else as a bonus. Expect observational material, car and late-night stories, and the easy rapport of someone who has done this for decades.

The room is intimate by design. Seating is first come, first seated, which means arriving when doors open gives you the best shot at a good table. That is the main reason the 5 PM doors time matters even though the show starts at 7.

House rules to know

The club has a few firm policies, and the listing spells them out:

• A two item minimum purchase per person in the showroom.
• Tickets are limited to ten per party.
• A valid government-issued photo ID is required.
• Third-party tickets are not accepted, so buy through the club's own channels.

Plan the minimum into your budget. Dinner and a drink on top of the $37 ticket is the realistic cost of the night.

Getting there

The club sits on Hermosa Avenue in Hermosa Beach, a short walk from the pier and the sand. The listing gives no street address, so confirm the exact location, parking and any schedule changes with the venue before you head out, since event schedules are subject to change. Make an evening of it by getting to the beach cities early for a sunset walk, then heading to the club when doors open.
