John Mulaney: Mister Whatever

John Mulaney is closing out 2026 at The Wiltern with his new tour, Mister Whatever, and it's shaping up to be one of the better comedy shows Los Angeles has seen in years. The show lands on December 30, close enough to New Year's Eve to feel festive, and a good reason to get out of the house before the countdown chaos hits.

Mulaney has spent the last several years rebuilding his live presence, and each new hour he's brought to stage has gotten sharper. His storytelling style, built around highly specific memories and careful setups, rewards audiences who actually pay attention. This isn't crowd-work comedy. It's a proper show.

The Wiltern is one of the better rooms in the city for stand-up at this scale. The Art Deco interior at Wilshire and Western seats around 1,850, and the sightlines from basically every section hold up. It's a venue that feels like an event without being cavernous, which suits Mulaney's style well. If you've been looking for LA comedy events worth planning around, this is a reasonable place to start.

Parking along Wilshire can be tight on a Tuesday night. The Metro K Line stops at Crenshaw/LAX, but the Wilshire/Western Purple Line station is right there and puts you half a block from the front door. If you're coming from the Valley or the Eastside, the Red Line to Wilshire/Vermont and a short ride west gets you there without the parking headache.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster. No price has been published at time of writing, so check the listing directly for current availability and tier details. Prices for Mulaney shows at comparably sized venues have ranged broadly depending on section and demand, so buying early tends to go better.
