The Friday show wasn't enough. Angine de Poitrine, the Québec duo who perform in polka-dot suits and tall pointed masks, now has a second night at The Wiltern on Saturday, December 5. If you've been scanning upcoming things happening in Los Angeles for a December weekend and want a show that looks and sounds like nothing else on the calendar, this is a strong pick. zouz opens.
What you're signing up for
Picture the cover photo in motion. One member plays a double-neck guitar, one neck for guitar and one for bass, and the whole thing is covered in the same dots as the costume. The other sits behind a drum kit in a matching mask, hammering out loops that barely change for minutes at a time.
The guitar is tuned microtonally. That means some notes land in the cracks between the keys of a piano, so the riffs sound a little off, then very catchy, then a little off again. Rhythms lurch in odd meters. It's rock music, technically, but the repetition pulls it toward a trance groove, and people dance.
They don't break character. There's no between-song banter explaining the concept. The masks stay on and the joke stays deadpan, which is half the fun.
The photo above is from The Great Escape festival in Brighton in May 2026. The North American run that follows goes through Brooklyn Steel, Chicago's Salt Shed, the Castro Theatre in San Francisco and the Fox in Oakland, with LA landing on consecutive nights, December 4 and 5.
Why Saturday
Friday is the date most people grabbed first. The Saturday listing is a separate event on Ticketmaster with its own tickets, so if Friday looked thin or sold out, check this one. It's also a Saturday night in Koreatown, which means dinner before and a late bite after are easy.
The Wiltern
The theater opened in 1931 at Wilshire and Western. It's the Art Deco building with the blue-green terra cotta tower you can see from blocks away. The main floor is usually standing room with a seated balcony above. For a band this visual, the balcony gives you the full stage picture. The floor is louder and sweatier, in a good way.
