A Good Year

A Good Year are a duo from Copenhagen, Denmark. Tobias Laust Hansen is a producer and former drummer of the band Liss, and Albert Hildbrand is a filmmaker who turned to making music. The project began with film: in 2024 they made a movie called Sofina and released its soundtrack as pure documentation, and A Good Year started from there.
Their sound fuses programmed electronic parts with played instruments, and baggy drums and acoustic guitars are part of the mix. The duo says a track often starts with drums and an idea for an image or video, and the visuals can steer the music.
Their album Play came out on Escho in May 2026. It grew out of experiments and collaborations, with ideas sent across the internet and back, and it features Horse Vision, Tiffi M, Helena Gao and MØ, plus first-time recordings by Koilwood and Suisse Air. They count Play as their debut record, though it is technically their second release. A Good Year are billed at an upcoming Los Angeles show.
