Manic Street Preachers are a Welsh rock band from Blackwood. For most of their career they have been a trio: Nicky Wire on bass, James Dean Bradfield on vocals and guitar, and Sean Moore on drums. For a time they were a four-piece with Richey Edwards on guitar. He disappeared in February 1995, and the remaining members chose to continue.

Their first two albums were Generation Terrorists in 1992 and Gold Against the Soul in 1993. All of their studio albums have made the UK Top 20, and This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours and The Ultra Vivid Lament both reached No. 1. Critical Thinking, their fifteenth studio album, came out in February 2025.

They have headlined Glastonbury, T in the Park, V Festival and Reading and Leeds, and they have won eleven NME Awards, eight Q Awards, two Ivor Novello Awards and four BRIT Awards. They were nominated for the Mercury Prize and have toured the US, Far East and UK with Suede. Manic Street Preachers are billed at an upcoming Los Angeles show.
