The Flaming Lips are an alternative rock band formed in Oklahoma City in 1983. The current lineup is Wayne Coyne, Derek Brown, Matt Kirksey, Tommy McKenzie and A.J. Slaughter. Coyne is the only founding member left since bassist and keyboardist Michael Ivins departed in 2021.

The group started out playing garage punk and noise pop before moving into psychedelic and experimental territory. Transmissions from the Satellite Heart came out in 1993, and its hit single She Don't Use Jelly broke the band into the mainstream. The Soft Bulletin (1999) was NME's Album of the Year, and Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (2002) earned an RIAA Gold certification. The band has won three Grammy Awards.

In October 2026 it was announced that the band had signed with Third Man Records and would release a new studio album, The Teardrop Throbs, on January 22, 2027.

The Flaming Lips are billed at an upcoming Los Angeles show, and the dates we list for the band appear further down this page.

Formed in Oklahoma City, OK in 1983, The Flaming Lips have since become one of the most iconic, influential, unpredictable, and vital forces in American alternative rock music.
