Bruno Mars is back at SoFi Stadium on Friday, October 2, a couple of nights after his September 30 show in the same building. If you missed out on the first date, or you went and want to do it again, this is the second shot. It's easily one of the bigger things happening in Los Angeles that week, and a Friday date means you don't have to drag yourself to work the next morning.
Why he's worth a stadium ticket
Plenty of pop stars can sell a stadium. Fewer can actually hold one. Mars fronts a tight live band, dances through most of the set and sings the hard parts himself, which is why people who've seen him once tend to go back.
The catalog helps. "Just the Way You Are" and "Locked Out of Heaven" are fifteen years old at this point and still get a full-crowd singalong. "Uptown Funk," his track with Mark Ronson, is basically a wedding reception law. Then there's the "24K Magic" era, the Silk Sonic run with Anderson .Paak that gave us "Leave the Door Open," and the more recent duets with Lady Gaga ("Die With a Smile") and Rosé ("APT."). That's a lot of songs a casual fan already knows by heart.
We don't have a confirmed setlist or opening act for this particular night, so don't take any lineup chatter as gospel until the ticketing page confirms it.
The venue
SoFi Stadium sits in Inglewood, next door to the Kia Forum and about three miles east of LAX. It's home to the Rams and the Chargers, and the translucent roof keeps the weather out while letting the sky show through. For a concert, that roof matters: sound doesn't just vanish into the night the way it can at an open-air bowl.
It's a big building. Upper-level seats are a long way from the stage, so if you care about seeing faces instead of screens, budget for the lower bowl or the floor.
Tickets and timing
The Discover Los Angeles listing for this date shows a 7 p.m. start, with prices listed from about $200 up to $1,000 depending on section. Stadium pricing moves fast in the last week, so check the official seller before you commit, and be wary of resale listings that look too cheap. If you're comparing this with other upcoming events Los Angeles has on the calendar that weekend, keep in mind that fees at a stadium show can add a real chunk on top of the face price.
Getting there
Traffic around Century Boulevard and Prairie Avenue gets ugly on show nights. A few things that help:
- Drive and park: buy stadium parking in advance if you're driving. Showing up without a pass means circling.
- Metro: the K Line's Downtown Inglewood station is the nearest rail stop, a bit over a mile away. Check Metro and the stadium's site for any event-day shuttle before you go.
- Rideshare: doable, but pickup after the show is slow. Walk a few blocks away from the stadium before you request a car.
- Bag policy: SoFi enforces a clear-bag rule, so leave the backpack at home.
Plan to arrive early. Getting 70,000 people through security takes time, and nobody wants to hear "Treasure" from the concourse line.
