Marilyn Manson is coming back to The Wiltern for Halloween weekend, and it's hard to think of a better match of artist and date. Of all the Things Happening In Los Angeles around October 31 this year, this one probably has the most eyeliner per square foot.

The run marks the 30th anniversary of Antichrist Superstar, the 1996 record that turned Manson from a cult act into a household name (and a regular target of worried parents). The album has sold more than seven million copies worldwide. According to the announcement, the show is split into two acts: the first digs into the album's story from front to back, and the second pulls fan favorites from the rest of his catalog. It's also his first Los Angeles appearance in eight years, which explains why tickets are moving on the resale sites already.

Two nights, one room

There are two dates at The Wiltern. Saturday, October 31 is the Halloween show itself, and Sunday, November 1 is the second night. The Ticketmaster link on this page is the one our listing came from, and its URL points at the Saturday show, so double-check the date on the page before you pay. If you'd rather dodge the Halloween crowd, Sunday is the quieter pick.

For the Saturday show, venue listings put doors at 7pm and the show at 8pm. All ages are welcome, but every person needs a ticket regardless of age. Bags can't be bigger than 12" x 6" x 12", and everything gets searched at the door, so leave the backpack at home.

What to expect

The Wiltern is a 1931 art deco theater with a sloped general admission floor and a balcony. It's big enough to feel like an event and small enough that you can see Manson's face from the back. The two-act format means a longer night than a standard rock set, so eat beforehand. Costumes on Halloween are basically guaranteed. You won't be the only one in white face paint.

Getting there

The Wiltern sits at Wilshire and Western in Koreatown, right on top of the Wilshire/Western station at the end of the Metro D Line. That's the easiest way in. Parking lots nearby charge event rates and fill up early on show nights, and Halloween Saturday traffic on Wilshire is rough, so rideshare or the train beats circling the block.

Pricing wasn't published on the listing we pulled, so check Ticketmaster for current face value before looking anywhere else. Resale prices on a two-night, first-in-eight-years run can climb fast.

If you're planning LA events this weekend around Halloween, the rest of our concerts listings are worth a scroll. For more things to do in Los Angeles, check the city page. Plenty is happening that night, but nothing else has a two-act Antichrist Superstar set.
