The lineup

Shwayze is the Malibu-born rapper best known for easygoing, beach-flavored songs that blur hip-hop with a guitar-driven sound. Asher Roth broke out with a conversational, college-campus style of rap that earned him a loyal following. Chiddy Bang, the Philadelphia duo, rounds out the names attached to the show. Three acts with different takes on the same easy-going mood make for a varied night rather than a single-note one.

What to expect

The El Rey is a classic theater room with a standing floor and a balcony, so expect a crowd that came to sing along. A Sunday show also tends to end at a sensible hour, which helps if you have work the next morning. Set times are not published in the listing we have, so check the ticket page closer to the date for door and curfew details.

Getting there

The venue sits on the Miracle Mile stretch of Wilshire Boulevard, close to the La Brea corridor. Street parking nearby has posted restrictions, so read the signs carefully, and consider a rideshare if you plan to drink. Ticket prices are not listed in the source we pulled from, so confirm the current price on Ticketmaster before you plan your budget.

Make a night of it

The area around Wilshire and La Brea has plenty of places to eat before a show, from quick counter spots to sit-down dinners.
