Stevie Wonder: Songs in the Key of Life at Intuit Dome

Stevie Wonder is bringing his Songs in the Key of Life 50th anniversary performances to Intuit Dome on Saturday, December 19, and it is easily one of the biggest LA concerts on the winter calendar. The album first arrived in 1976, and half a century later it still sounds like a record that people carry around with them.

Why this one matters

Songs in the Key of Life is a sprawling double album, and many fans count it among the greatest records of its era. It holds "Sir Duke," "I Wish," "As" and "Isn't She Lovely," plus a long run of deep cuts that rarely get a full airing. A show built around the whole album is a different thing from a standard greatest-hits night, and the anniversary framing suggests the record itself is the centerpiece.

Wonder has been a fixture of Los Angeles for decades, and a milestone like this tends to draw several generations into the same room. If you are looking for concerts in Los Angeles that feel like an occasion rather than just another tour stop, this is the one to circle.

The venue

Intuit Dome is the newest big arena in the area, home to the Clippers and booked heavily for concerts on the off nights. The room is large, with wide sightlines and sound designed for full-band shows. That suits an album with this many horns, vocals and layered arrangements.

Getting there

The arena sits in Inglewood, close to SoFi Stadium and the Kia Forum, so expect traffic and parking demand to climb as showtime nears. Arrive early, build in time for security lines, and consider a rideshare drop-off if you would rather skip the parking scramble. For anyone mapping out LA events this weekend in late December, plan the evening around the 8:00 PM start.
