Substance at The Belasco with Drab Majesty

If you are mapping out concerts in Los Angeles for the last weekend of October, Substance at The Belasco is a strong pick for anyone who likes their pop dark, synthetic and a little theatrical. The show is listed for Saturday, October 24, 2026, in the heart of downtown, with Drab Majesty, Buzz Kull and Kontravoid on the bill.

When: Saturday, October 24, 2026, 6 PM Where: The Belasco, 1050 S Hill St, Los Angeles, CA 90015 Price: Not listed in the source; check Ticketmaster

The lineup

Ticketmaster files Substance under Music, Pop and Electro Pop, and the three names attached to it fit that lane. Drab Majesty is the best known of the group, a project built around cold synthesizers, chorus-soaked guitar and a striking pale stage look. Kontravoid works in a sharper, club-minded electronic register. Buzz Kull rounds out the bill. The listing does not spell out set times or the running order, so treat the 6 PM time as the start of the evening and check the venue before you plan a tight arrival.

What to expect

The Belasco is a historic theater turned live music room, and a bill like this suits it. Expect low light, a lot of fog and haze, and an audience that dresses for the occasion. If you have been looking for live music Los Angeles fans talk about after the fact, a night built on synth and shadow in a proper theater is a good bet. Substance is a night where the sound and the look are meant to go together, so give yourself time to take in the room.

Getting there

The venue sits on South Hill Street near the edge of the Broadway theater district. Parking downtown is easy to find but pricey on a Saturday night, so a few options are worth weighing:

• Ride the Metro to the Pico station on the A and E Lines, then walk or rideshare the last stretch.
• Book a nearby garage in advance if you are driving.
• Use a rideshare drop-off a block away to skip the post-show traffic.

Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster. Because price, doors time and age policy are not in the listing we reviewed, confirm all three on the ticket page before you head out. If you are building a plan for LA events this weekend or the one after, pair the show with dinner in downtown or the Arts District.
