David and Stephen Dewaele have spent twenty-odd years making a career out of playing two records that should not go together. On Friday, September 18, the Belgian brothers who record as Soulwax and DJ as 2manydjs take over a downtown Los Angeles room that nobody is naming yet. Music runs 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Tickets are $20-44.
The venue line reads TBA, and that's not an oversight. The address goes out to ticket holders, which is standard practice for this kind of DTLA night. Buy first, get the location later, usually by email or text on the day of the party. If you show up downtown hoping to follow a crowd, you'll be wandering.
The Set
2manydjs made their name with As Heard on Radio Soulwax Pt. 2, a mix CD that welded Dolly Parton to Röyksopp and treated copyright as a suggestion. The live version has grown teeth since then. Expect funky house, tech house and nu-disco stitched into something that moves fast and doesn't sit on one groove for long. They read a floor well, which matters in a five-hour slot where the crowd at 11 p.m. and the crowd at 4 a.m. want different things.
The brothers also run DEEWEE, the Ghent label and studio behind a lot of the Belgian electronic output of the last decade. Their sets pull from it.
Practical Details
Date: Friday, September 18, 2026 Start: 11 p.m. End: 4:30 a.m. Location: DTLA, released to ticket holders Price: $20-44 Tickets: Resident Advisor
Plan the ride home before you go. A 4:30 a.m. finish lands well after Metro's last trains, and downtown surge pricing at closing time is real. If you're driving, the lots around 7th and the Arts District are the usual bet, and check posted hours so you don't get towed at sunrise.
More EDM in LA and other things happening in Los Angeles are on the site if this one sells out before the address drops.
