Most EDM in Los Angeles asks you to stay out past midnight. This one doesn't. Acts of Service Sounds is running a Sunday evening afro house session at Townhouse Venice on October 18, and the whole thing wraps by 11 PM, so you can dance for three and a half hours and still make Monday morning. Tickets are $8.97 on DICE, which is less than most Venice parking lots charge.
When: Sunday, October 18, 2026, 7:30 to 11 PM Where: Townhouse Venice, 52 Windward Ave, Venice Tickets: $8.97 on DICE Ages: 21+
Who's playing
B-Wade holds the decks for the night. The listing bills it as "A Night of Afro House" and describes the session as "ancestral energy and a cleanse for the spirit through sounds," under the banner "Awaken Through Movement." In practice that means the percussive, vocal-forward side of house: rolling drums, chants and basslines built for a sweaty dance floor rather than a hands-in-the-air drop. Afro house has been the fastest-growing corner of the genre for a few years now, and nights like this are where it lives between festival bookings.
The room
Townhouse is a Venice institution. The bar at 52 Windward Ave dates back to 1915, and the Del Monte Speakeasy downstairs did real speakeasy duty during Prohibition. It's a low-ceilinged, dark-wood kind of space a half block from the boardwalk, which makes it an odd and kind of perfect host for an afro house night: close quarters, a proper sound system and no VIP theater. The flyer lists the night as 21+, so bring ID.
Getting there
Street parking around Windward Ave on a Sunday evening is a gamble, but the beach lots at the end of Venice Blvd empty out as the sun goes down, and Metro's 33 bus stops a short walk away on Main St. A rideshare drop on Pacific Ave is the least painful option. Doors open at 7:30 PM, and with a hard 11 PM finish there's no reason to show up fashionably late.
If you're sorting through LA events this weekend, this is the rare dance-floor pick that doesn't cost a Friday night's sleep. More nights like it are on our EDM events page, and the rest of the neighborhood's calendar lives at Venice.
