AM.RADIO.CLUB Malibu Day Party at Calamigos Beach Club

AM.RADIO.CLUB is throwing its two-year birthday party on the beach. On Sunday, October 4, the crew takes over the new Calamigos Beach Club on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu for a day party that runs from 1pm to 6pm. If you've been looking for LA EDM events that don't start at 11pm and end with a sunrise you didn't plan on, this one's built for you.

What AM.RADIO.CLUB is

The promoter's pitch is simple. Two years ago they started throwing morning and daytime parties, something they say hadn't really been done in LA before, and they started it by the ocean. So for the anniversary they're going back to the water. The flyer calls it "a daytime get together by your friends at putyouon," and that tone fits. This is a Sunday hang with a DJ booth, not a warehouse rave.

What to expect

House music all day long is the promise, and that's the whole soundtrack. DICE doesn't list a lineup, so don't go in expecting a headliner set time. Pacifico is pouring the beer. A woodfire pizza oven will be running on site. And the crew's vintage Jeep, the AM.R (C)OFFEE Jeep, is serving coffee, which is a very AM.RADIO touch for a party that grew out of early starts.

Calamigos Beach Club sits right on the PCH, so you get ocean air and Malibu light for the full five hours. The event ends at 6pm, which leaves time to catch the sunset somewhere up the coast or get home before Monday feels too close.

Tickets and age limit

Tickets are sold on DICE, starting from $26.74 when we checked. DICE lists it as a 21+ event, so bring ID. DICE tickets live in the app, so download it before you head out, since cell signal along parts of the PCH can get patchy.

Getting there

Read this part twice. There is no on-site parking at Calamigos Beach Club for this event. The organizers say it's rideshare or drop-off only. The address is 26025 Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. From Santa Monica it's a straight shot up the PCH, but Sunday beach traffic heading north can crawl, so give yourself extra time, and expect surge pricing on the ride back around 6pm when everyone leaves at once. Splitting a car with friends makes the fare a lot easier.
