Marques Wyatt is a house music DJ and promoter based in Los Angeles. He was born and raised in Santa Monica, California. He began collecting vinyl and, around age 18, started DJing as a hobby. A 1985 trip to New York left him inspired by Danceteria and the music of Larry Levan at Paradise Garage, and he later befriended Frankie Knuckles at The World. Back in Los Angeles he began playing and promoting his own events.

Louie Vega invited him to play the Masters at Work party in Miami during WMC in 1996, and the set put him on the radar internationally. He had also run Brass, a weekly event that brought acid jazz acts such as Jamiroquai and Digable Planets to Los Angeles, and he joined the Brand New Heavies on the road as their tour DJ. In 2000 he launched Deep LA, a weekly party that started at the Viper Room and went on to spawn events in San Francisco and New York.

As a producer and remixer he has released on Om, Strictly Rhythm, King Street, Nervous and Yoshitoshi. One of his best known and beloved tracks is For Those Who Like to Get Down on Om Records. LA Weekly voted him Best DJ of 2014. He has played Burning Man and Coachella, and he pairs yoga with dance music through a project called Deep Exhale.

Marques Wyatt is billed at upcoming Los Angeles events, and the shows we list for him appear further down this page.

And as sonic love relates to house music, Marques Wyatt is a seminal pioneer. [...] He has played at just about every major electronic conference and festival, and is one of the most respected DJs and promoters on the West Coast.
