Bingo Loco at Exchange LA in Downtown LA

Most nights at Exchange LA end with a headliner. This one ends with somebody screaming "Bingo!" over a club sound system. On Saturday, October 10, Bingo Loco brings its rave bingo show to the club at 618 S Spring St, and doors open early, at 6:15 PM. It's 21+.

If you've been working through LA EDM events and want a night that isn't built around one DJ set, this is a good change of pace. The game gives everyone in the room a job, even the friend who never dances.

How it works

You get a card. A host calls numbers from the stage. Between rounds the DJ takes over and the room turns into a giant sing-along, and then it's back to the numbers. Bingo Loco shows usually throw in dance offs, lip sync battles, confetti and prizes, so plan on losing your place on the card at least once.

Nobody's good at this. That's fine. The fun part is the crowd noise when someone's one number away.

The flyer on Exchange LA's event page brands this date as Bingo Loco Latin Heat, with flames and palm trees all over it. Exchange's own listing doesn't spell out the playlist, so treat the theme as a hint, not a setlist.

The room

Exchange LA sits inside the old Los Angeles Stock Exchange building on Spring Street, a Depression-era landmark with a stone facade that looks more like a bank than a nightclub. Inside, it's one of downtown's bigger club rooms, and it books touring house and bass acts most weekends. Putting a bingo game under that lighting rig is the whole joke, and it lands.

The 6:15 PM doors are unusually early for this building. You can be done with bingo and still have time for dinner or a second stop nearby.

One warning worth reading twice. Exchange LA says it has no association with StubHub, Vivid Seats, Eventbrite or other resellers, and tickets bought there won't get you in. Buy through TicketWeb (or TIXR, when the venue links it) from the official page. All sales are final.

Getting there is easy without a car. The Metro B and D Lines stop at Pershing Square, a short walk from the club. Street parking around Spring and 6th is scarce on a Saturday, and lots in the Historic Core charge flat event rates after dark.

Wear shoes you can dance in and clothes that can survive confetti.
