Bop to the Top

Bop to the Top brings its Halloween edition, MONSTOBER, to The Regent Theater in downtown LA on Friday, October 30. The whole idea is a dance party built on Disney Channel songs, the ones you probably haven't sung out loud since middle school. It's 18+, it's the night before Halloween, and it's nothing like the rest of the LA EDM events on the calendar that week. That's why it made our list.

What Bop to the Top is

The name comes from "Bop to the Top," Sharpay and Ryan's audition number in the first High School Musical. The touring party's current run is billed as a celebration of 20 years of Hannah Montana and High School Musical, which both premiered in 2006. The set leans hard on those two. Then it pulls in Camp Rock, The Cheetah Girls, Lemonade Mouth and other Disney favorites.

It's a DJ set, but nobody's standing still and nodding along. Tour listings promise full audience participation, music videos on screen, and people dancing on stage all night. Plan on singing. Loudly.

The Halloween edition

MONSTOBER is the tour's Halloween night. Past editions landed on October 31 at House of Blues Orlando in 2024 and House of Blues Anaheim in 2025. This year Los Angeles gets it a night early, and Orlando runs its own MONSTOBER that same Friday.

The flyer goes full creature feature, all slime-green lettering, purple swirls and cobwebs. The listing doesn't mention a costume contest or a dress code. Still, it's Halloween weekend in DTLA, so expect plenty of costumes. A homemade Wildcats jersey counts.

At The Regent

The Regent is on Main Street between 4th and 5th, in the Historic Core. Ticketmaster's venue notes say most shows here are 21+, so an 18+ night is the exception. Age is enforced. Bring a current, unexpired state ID or driver's license, a military ID, or a passport.

The venue is cashless, so bring a card or your phone. House rules are strict: no backpacks or large bags, no outside food or drinks, and no cameras with detachable lenses. There's no re-entry, and all sales are final unless the show is canceled. Ticketmaster files the night under dance/electronic.

Before you go

  • When: Friday, October 30, 2026. Doors 9pm, show 9:30pm.
  • Where: The Regent Theater, 448 S Main St, Los Angeles, CA 90013.
  • Age: 18+ only, valid ID required.
  • Tickets: Ticketmaster (link on this page). Our source data didn't include a price. The listing uses all-in pricing, so the number you see at checkout should already include fees. Tickets are mobile.
  • Accessibility: The Regent asks guests who need ADA accommodations to reach out by email ahead of the show. The address is in the notes on the Ticketmaster listing.

Getting there

Valet is at the corner of 4th and Main, one short block from the door. Three paid surface lots sit across the street between 4th and 5th. If you luck into street parking, read the signs twice, because downtown parking enforcement won't care that you came as Troy Bolton. Pershing Square station on the B and D lines is a few blocks west on Hill Street. For the ride home after midnight, rideshare is the easier call.

Eat before you go, since you can't leave and come back once you're inside. Main and Spring have plenty of spots within a couple of blocks.

For the Halloween stretch of things to do in Los Angeles, this is the one where knowing every word to "Nobody's Perfect" pays off. More EDM Los Angeles picks live in our EDM category, and there's more going on in Downtown.
