Caleb Calloway at The Spotlight Hollywood

Caleb Calloway headlines The Spotlight in Hollywood on Friday, September 25, with Guru Reza also on the lineup. Doors open at 10 PM and the night runs to 3 AM. It's a house booking, plain and simple.

Who he is

Calloway is from Puerto Rico, and his sound also soaked up time spent in Chicago, Texas and New York. He moved to New York to study audio engineering, got pulled into the city's house and techno clubs, and shifted away from his hip-hop roots to DJ and produce full time. Back in Puerto Rico he built a name in the underground and ended up on bills with Damian Lazarus, The Martinez Brothers, Green Velvet and Loco Dice.

That last connection mattered. After opening for Loco Dice, he played the terrace at Club Space Miami during WMC 2014, then went on tour as Dice's support act across North and South America. He's kept a second career going in Latin hip-hop production, too: his DICE page lists "Deportivo," a track with Álvaro Díaz and Cazzu, as his top song. Expect the house set to carry some of that Caribbean swing.

The venue

The Spotlight opened in 2024 in the old A/V and The Avenue space at 1601 N Cahuenga Blvd. It's run by Framework, the same crew behind Sound nightclub and Coachella's Yuma Tent, and it holds about 300 people in 2,700 square feet. A room that size keeps a headliner close to the floor.

Tickets and entry

The event is 21+. DICE lists tickets from $24.93, and the venue warns that door tickets are limited and not guaranteed, so buy ahead if you're set on going. The Spotlight enforces a dress code posted on its own site. Table reservations go through reservations@thespotlight.la.

It's one of several club nights in Los Angeles on the same Friday. Compare it with the rest of the EDM listings and the Los Angeles calendar before you lock in your plans.
