Carl Cox plays the Hollywood Palladium on Friday, November 6, with Factory 93 presenting. Insomniac lists the night from 8pm to 2am, which is a long stretch in a big room, and exactly what Cox is known for. He has been one of the most important DJs in house and techno for more than three decades, and he still plays with the energy of someone at his first gig.

Support

The Insomniac listing and the flyer name OMRI., Kidoo and Athena as support. Insomniac tags the night techno, electronic, house and minimal. Expect a steady build from the openers into Cox's mix of rolling techno and house classics. Set times weren't posted when we checked.

Age and doors: check your ticket

The sources don't quite agree here. The Insomniac event page lists the show as 21+ from 8pm to 2am. The flyer says "Doors 7pm" and "18+". The Ticketmaster listing says GA is 18+ with valid ID, VIP is 21+, and doors are at 7pm. The safest reading is that general admission is 18+ and VIP is 21+, with doors opening around 7pm. Check the ticket type you buy, and bring a valid photo ID either way.

Tickets

Tickets are through Ticketmaster, which Insomniac links from its event page. We couldn't confirm a face-value price on September 24, so check the Ticketmaster page for current tiers and fees. Resale sites were showing get-in prices from around $91, which suggests primary GA is thinning out. If you want a spot, don't wait for the week of the show.

The venue

The Hollywood Palladium is at 6215 Sunset Boulevard, between Argyle and El Centro. The Metro B Line stop at Hollywood/Vine is a short walk. Parking in the area gets expensive on a Friday, so plan ahead or take a ride share.

Techno fans have a heavy November: I Hate Models plays City Market the next night, Eli Brown is there on November 14, and Time Warp Los Angeles debuts at the end of the month. For more EDM in LA, see the EDM category page and the Hollywood listings.
