Stereo Punks

Two names from the core of Detroit techno land in Downtown LA on Saturday, October 17. Stereo Punks presents Carl Craig and Octave One (Live), with support still to be announced. It is the kind of lineup that makes a strong case for EDM in Los Angeles this fall, and one of the more serious things to do in Los Angeles for anyone who likes their dance floor long and driving.

When: Saturday, October 17, 2026, 11pm to 5am Where: Location TBA, Downtown Los Angeles Tickets: $33.99 on DICE

Who is playing

Carl Craig is one of the figures people point to when they explain how Detroit techno traveled. Mentored by Derrick May, he launched the Planet E label in 1991 and built a catalog under his own name and under aliases such as Paperclip People, 69 and Innerzone Orchestra. His sets and live projects tend to stretch from deep, melodic techno to sharper, more percussive material.

Octave One is billed here as a live act, which means hardware and performance rather than a standard DJ set. They are another Detroit mainstay, so the night is effectively a Motor City double bill dropped into Downtown.

What to expect

The flyer and the listing both say the venue has not been named yet, so treat this as a ticket-first night: buy through DICE and watch for the location to be sent out closer to the date. The listed hours run from 11pm until 5am, which points to a full overnight party. Expect a proper late-night techno crowd, a sound system built for low end, and a set of local support acts still to be named.

Practical info

  • Tickets are sold through DICE at $33.99. The flyer also lists a text-to-buy number, but the DICE page is the one to trust.
  • The exact address is not published. Don't plan parking or rideshare drop-off until the venue is confirmed.
  • With a 5am finish, plan your ride home before you go. Rideshare surge pricing is common after Downtown late nights.
  • Check the DICE page before you head out, since the venue and support acts may be added or updated.

If you are building a Downtown weekend, this one sits at the heavy end of the bill. Browse more EDM events and the Downtown LA guide on OTBLA to pair it with an earlier dinner or a daytime plan.
