Club 90s Lana Del Rey Night at The Vermont Hollywood

Lana Del Rey has spent most of her career writing about California, so a whole club night of her songs in Hollywood feels overdue. Club 90s is taking over The Vermont Hollywood on Friday, October 2, for Lana Del Rey Night, running from 9:30 p.m. until 1 a.m. It's a sing-along party more than a DJ showcase, and that makes it one of the softer LA EDM events on the calendar this week.

What the Night Looks Like

The Eventbrite listing keeps it brief. It promises a night of Lana's dreamy songs, ages 18+, with doors at 9:30. No DJ is named, so the catalog is the headliner. It's a deep one. "Video Games" covers the slow, lights-down moment, and "Summertime Sadness" covers the part of the night where people actually dance. Cedric Gervais's remix of that song won the Grammy for Best Remixed Recording in 2014, and it's about as close as her music gets to a festival drop. The playlist is up to whoever's in the booth, but leaving it out would be a strange call.

Club 90s built its following on nights devoted to one artist, where the draw is a room full of people who know every word. Its Michael Jackson Halloween party at the same venue later in October follows the same idea. For this one, expect a lot of winged eyeliner and a few red dresses.
