Club 90s Thrillerween at The Vermont Hollywood

A week before Halloween, Club 90s is turning The Vermont Hollywood into a Michael Jackson party. Thrillerween runs Saturday, October 24, from 9:30 p.m. doors until 1:30 a.m., and the idea is simple: the King of Pop, all night, with a room full of people in costume. It's not a DJ-headliner show, and it's one of the more playful LA EDM events on the fall calendar because of that.

Club 90s built its following on nostalgia nights, where the draw is the songs everybody already knows the words to. This edition narrows the playlist to one catalog. Picture "Thriller" hitting at the right moment and half the floor attempting the zombie choreography from memory. Some of them will get it right.

What's Planned

The Eventbrite listing keeps it short. Doors open at 9:30, the show starts at 10, and the night includes a costume contest, a photobooth and themed drinks. The flyer leans hard into the 1983 "Thriller" video, with zombie makeup, a red jacket and a foggy graveyard, so you've got a pretty clear hint about the dress code if you want a shot at the contest. A red leather jacket and some grey face paint will do. A single sequined glove works too.

Nobody's promising a specific DJ lineup on the listing, so don't go in expecting a name on the bill. Go for the songs and the crowd.

The Venue

The Vermont Hollywood sits at 1020 N Vermont Ave, just south of Los Feliz and a short walk from the Vermont/Santa Monica B Line station. The venue says it has more than 13,000 square feet, a main dance floor, three full bars and a VIP mezzanine upstairs. It's a big room, which suits a theme party where people want space to actually dance.
