Cosmic Gate at Academy LA in Hollywood

Cosmic Gate headline Academy LA on Saturday, September 26. If trance is your thing, this is the booking to circle on the calendar of LA EDM events this month. The 19hz listing files the night under trance, progressive house and big room house, so expect the melodic, build-and-release end of the dance floor rather than techno or bass.

Academy's own event page lists LUCCIO and UNTER STRØM as support, so come early if you want the full arc of the night rather than just the headline slot. Doors open at 10 PM and the night runs until 3 AM. It's strictly 21 and over.

Tickets were listed at $35 in presale on 19hz. Academy says the only valid tickets come through TicketWeb and, in some cases, Tixr, and that anything bought from StubHub, Vivid Seats, Eventbrite or other resellers won't get you in. Your government ID also has to match the name on the ticket, so don't plan on buying a friend's spare at the door. Academy runs cashless too: cards and phone wallets only, so leave the cash at home.

The club sits at 6021 Hollywood Blvd, and Academy bills itself as a nightclub and special events space rather than a concert hall. That matters for a trance night: you're on a club floor with the DJ, not in theater seats watching a stage.

Getting home is the part to plan. Closing at 3 AM on a Saturday means Hollywood Blvd will be busy with rideshare traffic, and walking a block off the boulevard for pickup usually saves time. If you're driving, expect weekend event pricing at the nearby lots.
