Deorro Presents Botas y Rave in Chula Vista

Deorro is putting on Botas y Rave on Saturday, November 14, in the parking lot of the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista. The name means "boots and rave," and the flyer shows it: a pair of cowboy boots under Deorro's name, with the regional Mexican band Alacranes Musical and the DJ Juos billed alongside him. Insomniac runs it from 7pm to 11:30pm, and it's 18 and over.

To be upfront, this one is in San Diego County, about two hours south of Los Angeles. We're listing it anyway. Deorro grew up in the LA area, and a night built around EDM and Mexican music is not something that comes around often.

What to expect

Insomniac tags the night as electronic, house and Latin. Deorro made his name in the early 2010s with high-energy "melbourne bounce" and big-room records like "Five Hours," and more recently he has leaned into his Mexican roots. Alacranes Musical is a Durango-style band from the regional Mexican scene. Putting them on the same bill as a festival DJ makes this more of a crossover party than a standard club show. Juos rounds out the lineup.

Tickets

When we checked on September 24, tickets weren't on sale yet. Instead, the Insomniac event page linked to a presale sign-up, so the best move is to sign up there and watch for the on-sale date. We'll update the price when it's posted. Ticketmaster's venue listing shows the show as 18+.

Getting there

The amphitheatre lot is at 2050 Entertainment Circle in Chula Vista, next to the regular amphitheatre, and it's the same site that hosts large outdoor shows through the year. From LA, plan on the I-5 south and give yourself extra time on a Saturday evening. If you're staying overnight in San Diego, JSTJR plays SOMA the same night.

Closer to home, Deorro was on this year's Beyond Wonderland SoCal lineup, and Beyond Wonderland 2027 is on sale now. For more EDM events, see the EDM category page.
