GAG Halloween Night at Avalon Hollywood

Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so the costume parties start early. GAG gets a head start on Thursday, October 29, at Avalon Hollywood, and the flyer doesn't hide what it's going for: the word HALLOWEEN is stamped across it in purple, right next to the date. If you're sorting through LA EDM events for the spooky-season week, this is the Thursday option on Vine Street.

What's on the bill

Honestly, not much has been announced yet. Avalon's own listing reads "Avalon presents GAG," and the artist details section on that page is still blank. No DJs or set times have been posted, so we're not going to name anyone. Check the Avalon page closer to the date, since club listings like this usually fill in a lineup a few weeks out.

The artwork gives you the mood. It's a bright red poster with GAG spelled out in black letters that sprout little devil horns, plus a purple figure with a tail and horns sprinting across the right side. A small smiley-face GAG logo sits underneath. Costumes feel very much invited, though nobody's making them mandatory.

The venue

Avalon has been a Hollywood club since long before most of us were going out. The building at 1735 Vine St sits across the street from the Capitol Records tower, and the main room is a big, tall space with a balcony that looks straight down onto the floor. It's one of the main rooms for EDM Los Angeles has in Hollywood, and it runs club nights most weeks.

• Price: $24.95 on TicketWeb, per the ticket page's own listing. Fees may apply at checkout.
• Age: 21+. Your government ID has to match the name on the ticket.

Avalon is blunt about resellers. It says tickets from StubHub, Vivid Seats or any other third-party site won't get you in, and that TicketWeb (plus TIXR in some cases) is the only valid route. All sales are final. VIP tables are booked through Avalon's site separately.

Getting there

The Metro B Line's Hollywood/Vine station is a couple of blocks south on Vine, which beats circling for parking on a Thursday night. Paid lots are scattered around Hollywood and Vine if you do drive. A rideshare is the easy move for the ride home, since nobody wants to be hunting for their car keys at closing time.
