There was a stretch of years when every festival set peaked on the same four chords and a ten-second build. Golden Era Rave is throwing a whole night for it. On Friday, October 9, the party lands at Camille's at The Bellwether in downtown LA for a run of 2010s EDM classics. Doors open at 9 PM and the music starts at 9:30. It's 21+ only.

If your list of LA EDM events leans toward new underground names, this one goes the other direction on purpose. It's a nostalgia night, plain and simple.

The Music

The promoter's pitch is short: DJs playing iconic tracks all night from the likes of Avicii, Swedish House Mafia and Calvin Harris. None of those artists are on the bill. This is a party built around their records, not a set from them, so come for the songs rather than a headliner.

That era had a specific sound. Big-room progressive house with piano hooks, vocal toplines you could sing along to, and drops built for a field of 80,000 people. Think "Levels," "Don't You Worry Child," "Feel So Close." Hearing them in a club room instead of from the back of a festival lawn is half the appeal. You'll know most of the words, and so will everyone next to you.

The Room

The Bellwether is a concert hall on Boylston Street that books touring bands and DJs. Camille's is the space named on this listing. The cover photo shows the main hall's lighting rig, which gives you a sense of the building, though Camille's setup may differ.

Tickets and Practical Details

Tickets run $20 to $49.50 through TicketWeb, the Ticketmaster-owned seller for smaller rooms. VIP tickets, per the listing, include early entry and access to a preferred viewing area. The promoter also notes limited tickets, so don't count on buying at the door.

The venue is at 333 S. Boylston St., on the western edge of downtown near the 110. Street parking is scarce on a Friday night, so rideshare makes sense, especially since the night wraps around 12:30 AM. Bring a valid ID. Nobody under 21 gets in.

It's an easy pick if you're hunting for things to do in Los Angeles that don't require a festival wristband or a 4 AM finish. Find more nights like this on our EDM in LA page, or browse what else is happening around Los Angeles that weekend.
