Headache, the London duo that built a devoted following on slow, hazy electronica and spoken word, comes to The Regent Theater in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday, November 18. If you want a midweek night out that sits well away from the usual four-on-the-floor bill, it's one of the more interesting things to do in Los Angeles this month.
Who is Headache
Headache is a collaboration between writer and poet Francis Hornsby Clark and producer Joseph Thornalley, who records as Vegyn. Their debut album, The Head Hurts But The Heart Knows The Truth, came out in May 2023 on Vegyn's own PLZ Make It Ruins label. It spread almost entirely by word of mouth, and the booking agency's biography credits it with more than 19 million Spotify streams.
The sound is trip-hop and downtempo electronica with spoken-word vocals on top. Their second album, Thank You For Almost Everything, arrived in October 2025. The group's own description of the live show is blunt about what to expect: "Dance slow, dance fast, don't dance at all."
What to expect at the show
This isn't a peak-hour club set. Think slow tempos, a lot of atmosphere and a crowd that listens as much as it moves. Fans of Vegyn's production or of classic trip-hop will feel at home. It is also a good fit for anyone who wants electronic music without the volume war.

Getting there
The Regent sits on Main Street in the Historic Core, a short walk from Pershing Square station on the B and D lines. Paid lots and valet are within a block or two, and rideshare is the easier call after a late finish. Eat nearby first, since most venues of this type don't allow re-entry.
If you're lining up other nights out, the EDM category has more EDM Los Angeles listings, and the Downtown page covers what else is happening around the Regent.
