Yeah Yeah Yas, the queer indie dance party that bills itself as LA's gayest, takes over El Cid for a Halloween edition of Heads Will Roll. If you're hunting for EDM in Los Angeles that skips the superclub formula, this one trades big-room drops for sweaty indie, electroclash and bloghouse in a room that already looks a little haunted.
When: Saturday, October 31, 2026, 10 PM to 2 AM Where: El Cid, 4212 W. Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90029 Price: Free RSVP before 10:30 PM, $10 after Age: 21+
What to expect
The promoters describe the night as indie, electroclash and bloghouse all night long. That means the sound of the late-2000s dance floor: distorted synths, big basslines, shout-along choruses and the kind of remixes that make a crowd lose it at 1 AM. The organizers call El Cid a "haunted flamenco club," and the theatrical room suits a costume night well.
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, so expect people to go all in. Costumes are the obvious move, though the listing doesn't set a dress code. Space is limited, which is the main thing to plan around.
Getting in
The cheapest way in is the free RSVP, and the window closes at 10:30 PM. After that the door price is $10. Because the room is small and the night is tied to a holiday weekend, arriving early is the safer bet. Use the DICE page to RSVP, and bring a valid ID, since the event is 21+.
If you're building a Halloween weekend, this fits alongside the other things to do in Los Angeles that week. The party runs until 2 AM, so the clocks going back that night (Daylight Saving Time ends November 1) hand you an extra hour at the end of it.
Getting there
El Cid sits on Sunset Boulevard on the Silver Lake and Los Feliz border, an easy rideshare from most of the east side. Street parking nearby fills up on weekends and holidays, so a rideshare or a designated driver makes the night simpler. Sunset Boulevard is also well served by buses if you'd rather skip the car.
Plan dinner nearby and start the night early. With a free RSVP window this tight, the line is likely to build before 10:30 PM, and the first hour is usually when the dance floor is easiest to move around in.
