We Love Kandy is launching a new series called No Frequency, and the first one goes down at Catch One on Saturday, September 26. The promoter's pitch is three words long: trap, bass, energy. Doors run from 9 PM to 2 AM, and it's 18+.
The headliner is IKU, the project of LA producer Andy Rivera. He only started making music in 2023, but his independently released tracks have already been played out by Kai Wachi, DJ Diesel, Habstrakt and Deorro, according to the event page. Since 2024 he's logged more than 50 shows across California, Las Vegas, New York and Japan. He also co-founded DIY Raves, which throws underground and pop-up parties around town. This isn't his first time on the Catch One stage, either.
The undercard is stacked with local bass talent:
- Veiled Eye, a 20-year-old LA artist mixing Latin rhythms into trap and bass. They won the Cymatics Producer Royale contest at 16 and put out a label release at 18.
- HMEWRK., a hybrid trap and experimental bass trio that debuted on Space Yacht in 2024.
- Junior Grimez, a Bay Area native raised in Ventura County, who has played Webster Hall, Avalon Hollywood and Exchange LA.
- Make It Bump, an Orange County DJ whose mashups have been played at Ultra, EDC Las Vegas and Lost Lands.
Tickets are on Pear. Tier 1 general admission was $17.77 when we checked, a skip-the-line VIP ticket was $23.33, and four-packs of GA and VIP were also on sale. The promoter notes that its last event sold out, so don't count on buying at the door.
Catch One is at 4067 W Pico Blvd in Mid-City. IKU and Junior Grimez have both played this room before, so they know how it handles heavy low end. Bring earplugs.
It's a good pick if you're looking for raves in LA that put up-and-coming local producers ahead of touring names. The night before, the same club hosts a 2010s pop throwback, so the vibe here is very different. Find more LA EDM events on our category page, or see what else is on around Los Angeles.
