Jigitz at the Fonda Theatre: Second Show

The AXS listing says it plainly: Jigitz, 2nd show added. The second show is Friday, September 25, starting at 9 p.m., and Killen. is back on the bill as support.

If you missed the Saturday, September 19 night, this is the same pairing six days later. Our preview of the first Fonda show covers that date.

What you're walking into

Listings for both nights tag the music the same way: UK garage, bassline and house. That's a narrower lane than most shows billed as "electronic" in Hollywood, and it's the draw. Garage runs on shuffled two-step drums and chopped vocals. Bassline pushes the low end harder and faster. Put them in a 1920s theatre with a balcony and you get a room that dances more than it stands and films.

Where the first night was a Saturday, this one is a Friday, so you can go and still have the weekend. The ticket listing gives 9 p.m. as the start and Discotech shows the night running to 1 a.m., so there's no reason to rush the door unless you want the balcony rail. Killen. is listed as the only support act, so the night is two sets rather than a long undercard.

Tickets

Prices start at $50 on AXS, and fees push that up at checkout. It's a reasonable pick if you're scanning LA EDM events for a weekend that doesn't mean a warehouse in the Arts District.

Getting there

The Fonda is at 6126 Hollywood Blvd, with the marquee right over the Walk of Fame. Hollywood/Vine on the B Line is a short walk west, which beats circling for parking on a Friday. After the show, walk a block off the boulevard before you call a car; Hollywood Blvd pickup at 1 a.m. is slow.
