Klangkuenstler: OUTWORLD at the Kia Forum

Klangkuenstler takes over the Kia Forum in Inglewood on Saturday, October 3, and he's the only name on the bill. Factory 93 is presenting the night as OUTWORLD: Klangkuenstler All Night Long, which means one DJ from 7pm until midnight with no support acts listed. It's one of the bigger LA EDM events of the fall, and a rare case of a techno DJ carrying a full arena by himself.

The German DJ and producer was born Michael Korb in Füssen, a small town in the Bavarian Alps. He moved to Berlin in 2012 after his first gig at the club Ritter Butzke. His early records were deep house and tech house (his debut album, Das bin ich, came out in 2013). Around 2018 he switched to techno, and his sets now sit at the harder, faster end of it.

OUTWORLD started as the record label he founded in 2019. It has since grown into his own touring show, and Factory 93 is billing this date as its West Coast debut. The promoter describes a production built on large lighting rigs and a dark, dystopian look. Five hours also changes how a set plays out. A festival slot gives a DJ about an hour to hit hard. A solo night lets him start slow, stretch out the middle and save the heaviest records for the last stretch before midnight.

The show runs 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM, and Insomniac's event page lists it as 18+. Tickets were sold through Ticketmaster, but that same promoter page showed the night as sold out on September 28. If you're sorting through LA events this weekend and still want in, check the official Ticketmaster listing for returned tickets rather than buying from a stranger. We haven't seen a published face-value price, so we're not quoting one.

The Kia Forum sits at 3900 W Manchester Blvd in Inglewood, a few miles east of LAX. The arena has its own parking lots, though a midnight exit from a sold-out show means a slow crawl back onto Manchester. Metro's K Line stops in downtown Inglewood, a long walk or a short rideshare from the arena. Bring earplugs. Five hours of techno at arena volume adds up.
