Luciid takes over Exchange LA on Saturday, November 28, for a Mutate night that runs from 10pm to 3am. It's the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so if you've had enough of leftovers and relatives, this is one of the harder-hitting LA EDM events on the late-November calendar.

Insomniac lists the show on its clubs calendar with Mutate as the presenter, and the genre tag is a single one: hard techno. Expect it fast and loud. The listing names two performing artists, Luciid and Callush. The flyer fills in more. Luciid is billed with "360°" under the name, which points to a set played in the round, with the booth in the middle of the floor rather than up on the stage. Callush gets the special guest slot. Two more names, Nova and X0X0, sit underneath in smaller type as support. Set times haven't been posted.

The artwork matches the sound. It's a black poster with jagged, thorn-like line drawings in white and pale blue down the left side, and blocky white lettering on the right. The bottom line reads 10PM // 21+, with mutateevents.com printed below it.

Exchange sits at 618 S Spring St. in the Historic Core, inside the old Los Angeles Stock Exchange building. The main room is tall and wide, which suits a crowd packed around a center booth. Entry is strictly 21 and over, so bring a valid ID.

Neither the Insomniac page nor its structured data shows a ticket price right now, and we're not going to guess at one. Use the Buy Tickets button on the Insomniac listing to check current tiers. For table service, the listing gives (213) 444-3388. General questions go to (213) 627-8070.

Getting there: Pershing Square Station on the Metro B and D lines is the closest rail stop, a few minutes' walk from Spring Street. Late-night service thins out well before 3am, so plan your ride home before you head in. Holiday weekend street parking downtown gets tight, and the paid lots along Spring and Main fill early.

Anyone hunting for raves in Los Angeles with a harder edge than the usual house night should look here first. It's one room, a short bill and a genre that doesn't let up. More nights like this live on the EDM category page, and the rest of the downtown calendar is worth a look too.
