Marco Strous gets Academy LA to himself on Friday, October 23. If you're lining up LA EDM events for the back half of October, this one's easy to plan around: one name on the bill, doors at 10, and a room on Hollywood Blvd that's built for exactly this kind of night.

The flyer leans into the location. It's a pencil-style sketch of the hill with the Hollywood sign, set on a stone pedestal like a museum piece, with Strous's name scrawled in white brush letters next to it. There's no support lineup listed and no set times. When Academy runs a single-name bill like that, the headliner usually carries most of the night.

Doors open at 10 PM. The show is 21 and over, and the venue checks. Your government ID has to match the name on the ticket, so if you're buying for someone else, put the ticket in their name at checkout.

Academy is cashless. Credit and debit cards work, and so do Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay. Leave the cash at home, because the bar won't take it.

Getting there is simple if you skip the car. The club is at 6021 Hollywood Blvd, a few blocks east of the Hollywood/Vine B Line station, which makes the train the least stressful option on a Friday. Going home, rideshare pickups on the boulevard stack up after midnight. Walk a block down Gower or Argyle before you request a car and you'll save yourself ten minutes of circling. Lots nearby fill early on weekends.

The line usually builds around 11. Get there close to doors if you'd rather spend the night dancing than standing on the sidewalk.
