Sound Nightclub is a place most Angelenos only know after dark. On Sunday, Nov. 15, it flips the script for an afternoon: Space Laser Invasion is a family club party where parents, kids and grandparents share the same dance floor.

When: Sunday, Nov. 15, 2026, 2:00 to 4:30 PM Where: Sound Nightclub, 1642 N Las Palmas Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90028 Tickets: Eventbrite (link below)

What to expect

The crew behind the series describes itself as seasoned ravers and parents who wanted somewhere to take their own families. The pitch is a real club night shrunk into an afternoon, not a kids' party. The organizers say there is no children's music, no games and no DJ shout-outs. The idea is families dancing together, with the lights, sound system and mirror ball you would normally find at a Hollywood club after midnight.

That makes it a different kind of outing from the usual story time or park meetup. If you have ever wanted to see what Sound looks like with the lasers on and the crowd under four feet tall, this is the chance. It also suits adults who miss going out but now have a calendar built around naps and school.

Who it is for

The event page says this is an all-ages event, and babies are welcome. The organizers suggest wearing your baby so you can still reach the dance floor. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and caregivers are part of the picture too, so bring the whole crew. Expect a relaxed room where the adults have as much fun as the children.

Because the music is aimed at the grown-ups in the room, kids who like to move will do best. Bring ear protection for little ones if you think the volume might be a lot, and plan a break from the floor if anyone gets overstimulated.

Planning your visit

Tickets go through Eventbrite, and the listing shows several ticket tiers, so check the page for the current options before you buy. The party sits squarely in the Sunday afternoon slot, which leaves the rest of the day open for dinner nearby.

Sound is on Las Palmas Avenue, just off Hollywood Boulevard, so parking in Hollywood is the main thing to sort out ahead of time. Garages in the area fill up on weekends, and rideshare drop-off is easiest on the block. Our guide to Hollywood has more on the area, and the EDM category lists other dance events around the city.

If you are building a list of things to do in Los Angeles with kids this month, a family rave in a real nightclub is a memorable pick. It is also one of the more unusual LA events this weekend for anyone who wants to introduce a child to dance music without staying up past bedtime. Arrive on time, since the party runs only two and a half hours.
