Overmono are bringing the Pure Devotion World Tour to the Hollywood Palladium on Friday, September 25, and it's one of the bigger LA EDM events of the fall that isn't a festival. HARD Selects is presenting. Doors are at 8 p.m. and the night is scheduled to run until 1:30 a.m.
Why this one
Overmono are a UK electronic duo, and the Insomniac listing for this date sums up their lane: heavy basslines, cinematic textures, and rhythms pulled from UK garage, techno, breakbeats and rave history. That's a lot of genres for one flyer, but the thread running through them is British club music played at full volume, and the 19hz listing files the night under breaks and techno.
The tour is named Pure Devotion, and this is its Los Angeles stop. Insomniac and Live Nation both list just the one Friday night here, so there's no second date to fall back on.
The opener
Mesmé is on first, and she's worth arriving early for. She's an LA-based DJ, collector and producer who held a seven-year residency with the warehouse series Into The Woods and spent four years on dublab. Her sets drift through deep house, techno, electro and trip-hop, often on vinyl at tempos you wouldn't expect. It's a patient warm-up, which suits a headliner who builds rather than bangs from bar one.
Tickets, age and timing
General admission is 18+ with valid ID; VIP is 21+. Tickets are through Ticketmaster, which had not published a face-value price we could confirm when this went up, so check the listing before you commit. Separate from the main show, the Palladium's Vinyl Room opens at 6:30 p.m. if you want a drink first.
Getting there
The venue is at 6215 Sunset Blvd, a short walk south of Hollywood and Vine. The B Line to Hollywood/Vine is the low-stress option on a Friday. If you drive, Premier Parking vouchers are only valid starting two hours before doors, so pulling in at 5 p.m. won't guarantee a spot.
More Hollywood events live on our Hollywood page, and the full EDM Los Angeles calendar covers the rest of the weekend.
